It is Time to Focus


I don't want to admit it, but Summer is nearly over. We can finally take a breather from the busy season and relax... NOPE!

Ok, take a couple days to calm down and unwind. Then, it is important that you look over how your busy season went and consider what went well, and what you want more of. Also look at what didn’t work. But now is the time to focus on the good stuff!

Think about what you would like to see more of in your business. These are your goals. Decide what actions you need to take to achieve those goals and create a plan. Wait- you aren’t done, yet!

Now that you have a plan you must come up with ways to delegate the actions required to achieve your goals. Break the plan up into steps, decide who and how to delegate those steps, and create an action plan for each person to whom you delegate.

This is very important. Those action plans are your outlines to how to follow up. Remember, if you want to see progress, you must FOLLOW UP! Your employees and teammates want to be successful, they want to have clear goals to work towards. Be as clear as possible about what you want from them. Then, meet with them weekly, even for just a few minutes to check in. Ask specifically about items on their action plan.

Is there a deadline for these goals to be met? If so, its doubly important that you follow up in a timely manner. Make sure you are checking in and available to answer questions and provide direction as needed prior to the deadline. Schedule your final check up with your team member so they know you will be meeting and expect results at that time. Make sure you actually meet! Don’t drop the ball!!!
